Safe Ex Operation

• The enclosure (usually provided by the operator or installer) must meet all relevant requirements of IEC 60079‑0 and IEC 60079‑7 and exhibit at least IP54 protection per IEC 60529.
• The external grounding must be established during the installation.
• Outside the assembly, suitable measures must be taken to ensure the rated voltage is not exceeded by more than 40 % due to temporary faults.
• The connecting and disconnecting of the non-intrinsically safe circuits is only permitted if no explosive atmosphere exists.
• The surrounding air temperature at the installation location must be between −25 and +70 °C.
• The equipment shall only be used in an area of at least pollution degree 2, as defined in IEC 60664-1.
• The following warnings must be placed nearby the unit:
• WARNING – DO NOT DISCONNECT WHILE ENERGIZED!
• WARNING – ONLY DISCONNECT IN A NON-HAZARDOUS AREA!
