Digital Output (DO)
The DO (digital switching output) provides the option to react to certain input signal levels. The switching response of this DO can be configured as follows:
- Up to two switching thresholds can be freely configured within the overall measurement range. The switching response and switching delay can be set individually for each switching threshold. The switching response can also be inverted.
- The DO responds when the switching threshold settings are violated.
These statuses are indicated visually by an LED.
The technical data can be found in the data sheet, which you can generate under the following link:
Current-Time Product
When a configurable activation threshold is exceeded (x amps), the signal conditioner then generates a current-time product (t * A). The digital output DO is activated as soon as this current-time product exceeds a set threshold value.
Activation threshold and current-time product can be freely configured via interface configuration software, interface configuration app or configuration display.
Parameters | Value |
---|---|
Switching behavior | Current-Time Product |
Activation threshold | 100 A |
Current-time product | 100 As |
Switch-off delay | 0 ms |
Switch-on delay | 0 ms |
Application example: Overload protection
If the motor nominal current is exceeded for a defined period (overload operation), the DO is tripped. In principle, this function is just like a simple switch-on delay.
The special feature of the current-time product generation is the faster shutdown when the current significantly exceeds the nominal current (e.g., when the drive is blocked). A switch-off delay after this event can also be configured for the DO (e.g., for renewed startup).
