View Device Log
- Open the “Device Log” tab.
You have two options to view log entries:
- To display device log entries directly in the “Device Log” tab, click [Retrieve log entries].
- To retrieve device log entries and save them to a file, first select the desired File output format (“TXT” or “CSV”).
Then click [Retrieve log entries as a file]. - By default, the last 100 log entries that have at least the “Informational” log level are displayed or saved.
Filter Log Entries
You have various options for filtering log entries and thus reducing long lists.
- Specify a Maximum number of entries:
Up to 1,000 log entries when displayed directly, or up to 100,000,000 log entries when stored in a file. - Select the Log Level that should be displayed at a minimum.
Log levels indicate the severity or urgency of a log entry.
Tip: You can configure which log levels are generally logged via the “Settings” > “Logging” tab. - Enter a string by which the Log sources of the entries should be filtered.
- Under Log entries select the point in time from which log entries are displayed. To do this, check the box and select the time and date from the calendar widget.
Configure Logging
The “Device Log” tab is used to display and filter log entries. You can configure which events are logged by the device in a different area of the interface:
- Open the “Settings” tab.
- Open the “Logging” page.
- Here, for example, you can change the setting so that log entries are created starting at “Debug” log level.
- You can also adjust the memory size reserved for the log entries.
- You can connect an external logging server if required on the “RemoteLogging” page.
