Generating Node Certificates and Synchronizing with Connected Controllers

  1. You need to have already created a solution that contains at least three entities of type “Controller.”
  2. Each entity of type “Controller” must already have been assigned a static IP address.
  1. Open your existing solution.
  2. In the “Solutions” menu, click the “Configuration” menu item.
  3. Select the root element of the tree structure.
  4. Click the “CERTIFICATES” tab.
  5. Click [+] to create a new certificate.
  6. The “Generate New Certificate” dialog opens.
  7. Select Certificate Authority from the “Role” drop-down menu.
  8. Click [Generate].
  9. Select all three created entities of type “Controller” at the same time.
  10. Click the “TAGS” tab.
  11. Select the Certificate:node tag.
  12. The Certificate:node tag is assigned to all three created entities of type “Controller.”

  14. Select the root element of the tree structure.
  15. Click the “CERTIFICATES” tab.
  16. Click .
  17. The “Renew Certificate Authority and Subcertificates” dialog opens.
  18. Under “Role of New or Renewed Certificates,” select the Node Certificate option.

  20. Click [Renew].
  21. Three fieldbus node certificates are generated for the three created entities of type “Controller.”
  22. Click “Network” in the “Solutions” menu.
  23. Click [Merge Detailed].
  24. The “Synchronize Differences” dialog opens.
  25. Check whether the table view contains the “Certificates (BACnet)” entry so it can be synchronized.
  26. Click [Synchronize].
  27. The controllers are synchronized.
