Addressing

PROFINET name

Station name

z. B. pfc200-g2-4eth-can-usb

PROFINET uses station names to address devices.

To keep device names in sync in the network and in e!COCKPIT, “Synchronization with e!COCKPIT - device names” should be enabled (see options below). The station name needs and cannot be adjusted in this case. If the option is not enabled, the station name can be adjusted at this point and transferred to the device.

DNS name

z. B. pfc200-g2-4eth-can-usb

The DNS name is calculated or converted from the station name. The name is converted because, e.g., not all programs support special characters.

Synchronization with e!COCKPIT-device names

The station name is automatically synchronized to the names used in e!COCKPIT (e.g., when renaming a device in a tile).

The station name can be manually changed.

The specified station name is used.

The specified station name is used after restarting.

The station name last set by “Domain Control Panel” DCP is used after restarting.

Disable DCP as source for the default gateway

The default gateway set per DCP is not used. This setting is useful if, e.g., another default gateway is set via DHCP.

The default gateway set in the system per DCP is used.
