Selection Rules

There are dependencies between the objects of the project tree. Only valid projects are checked into a repository. This is accomplished with a set of rules that apply to each action performed on the repository.

For example, the application of the rules can be seen in the repository browser, which can be opened via the menu ribbon, “SUBVERSION” tab, [Edit SVN working copy ...]. Here the selection of elements in the project tree is extended to further elements of the tree according to the rules in order to ensure data consistency in the project. A dialog displays corresponding options:

• “Continue to execute command with modified selection”
• → The action is executed for the selected components and for all components associated with it according to the rules.
  
• “Cancel command and check selection”
• → The action is canceled. You can view and, if necessary, adjust your own selection and the components that are associated with it according to the rules and that are also selected.
  
• “Cancel command and restore original selection”
• → The action is canceled. The original valid selection is restored. This function corresponds to the [Cancel] button.

e!COCKPIT provides in addition to the CODESYS rules more selection rules to ensure the consistency of the e!COCKPIT projects.
