Shorten e!COCKPIT Start Time

You can shorten the start time of e!COCKPIT by adding e!COCKPIT to the exception rules of your virus scanner.

Assign exception rules for virus scanners with caution!

Basically, a virus scanner is an important security feature. Always keep your virus scanner up to date. However, depending on the manufacturer and version, virus scanners can influence the behavior of applications. You can counteract the impact by using exception rules.

Be aware of the risks in adding exception rules. Talk to your administrator.

As an example, creating exception rules using the “Windows Defender Antivirus” in Windows 10 is described below:

  1. Open the “Windows Security” app.
  2. Open the “Virus & Threat Protection” page.
  3. Click [Manage Settings] under “Virus & threat protection settings”.
  4. Click [Add or remove exclusions] under “Exclusions”.
  5. Click [Add Exclusions].
  6. Select the file and specify the following path:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\WAGO Software\e!COCKPIT\e!COCKPIT.exe
  7. Select the folder and specify the following path:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\WAGO Software\e!COCKPIT
    C:\ProgramData\WAGO Software\e!COCKPIT
  8. Select the process and specify the following path:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\WAGO Software\e!COCKPIT\e!COCKPIT.exe

If you chose a different path during installation, adjust it.
