Add Devices in the Project
To use a device in a project, select it in the 8 Product Selection and insert it under 8 Devices in the Project.
Add Devices from Catalog
- Open “Device from Catalog” product selection.
- A tree displays all available devices that you can use for project planning.
- Select a device and insert it into the project structure:
- by clicking onnext to the device or
- by double-clicking on the device or
- by drag & drop into the project structure or
- from the context menu and [Add to the project].
Add Devices from Network
- Open “Device from Network” product selection.
- If you know the IP address of your device, enter it in the “Start Address” field and click on [Scanning [IP Address]].
Alternatively, enter the start and end address of an IP address range in which the device is to be searched for and click on [Scanning [x] addresses]. - The devices found are displayed.
- Note: If an icon
for untrusted SSL certificates appears after the device name, refer to the information and notes at 8 Handling Certificates.
- Select a device and insert it into the project structure:
- by clicking onnext to the device or
- by double-clicking on the device or
- by drag & drop into the project structure or
- from the context menu and [Add to the project].
Add Devices via USB
- Check whether your device is connected to the PC via USB.
Note: Note that only one device can be connected via USB at a time. This is because the USB interface internally functions as a virtual network connection that can only be accessed via a unique IP address 192.168.42.42. - Open the “Device on USB” product selection.
- The device connected via USB is displayed.
- Note: If an icon
for untrusted SSL certificates appears after the device name, refer to the information and notes at 8 Handling Certificates.
- Select a device and insert it into the project structure:
- by clicking onnext to the device or
- by double-clicking on the device or
- by drag & drop into the project structure or
- from the context menu and [Add to the project].
