EtherNet/IP Master: Features and Functions

If a license is available on the device (see WAGO Devices as EtherNet/IP Masters (License Required)), the master device can communicate in real time with connected fieldbus slaves (adapters) and read their inputs or write to their outputs. All parameters for communication are specified via e!COCKPIT, such as the IP addresses of the devices, the EtherNet/IP-specific connections and their properties, the RPI (“Requested Packet Interval”) and user parameters.
On the basis of the “EtherNet/IP Services” IEC Library, the slaves can be accessed acyclically from the IEC 61131-3 application, for example to read or write attributes.

The following functions are available:

The controllers can be used as EtherNet/IP masters for controlling WAGO slaves with the EtherNet/IP fieldbus system (e.g., the 750-363 EtherNet/IP Fieldbus Coupler of the WAGO I/O System 750). Furthermore, it is possible to control field devices that have a standardized device description (EDS file) or have been integrated into e!COCKPIT via the “Generic_EtherNet/IP_Adapter” generic adapter of the product catalog.
