Installing WAGO Solution Builder
WAGO Solution Builder is installed in a setup process. The main component, WAGO Solution Builder, comes standard with this setup. WAGO Solution Builder consists of a Webserver, a PostgreSQL database, additional background services and the WAGO Solution Builder Plug-in for CODESYS and e!COCKPIT.
The following installation types are available:
- Full install:
Installs all components in the work environment used. All components can then be used without limitation and executed in this work environment. - Distributed installation:
Only installs individual components on the work environment used. All other components can then be installed and run in other external work environments. For example, individual components can be executed on a local PC and the other components on a higher-level server.
The following components are installed and configured during the installation process, depending on the installation type selected:
- WAGO Solution Builder Webserver
- WAGO Solution Builder Database (PostgreSQL)
- WAGO Solution Builder Plug-in for CODESYS
- WAGO Solution Builder Plug-in for e!COCKPIT
- WAGO Device Communication Service
- WAGO Tool Gateway Service
- WAGO Legacy Communication Service
- Windows Firewall Enabler for the WAGO Device Communication Service DHCP Server
Follow the steps below to install WAGO Solution Builder:
- Download the software.
It is available at www.wago.com. - Start the installation process by double-clicking the installation file and follow the steps in the installation wizard:
a) Install the WAGO Solution Builder Package for WAGO Solution Builder.
b) Install WAGO Solution Builder:
・ Accept the license agreements.
・ Select “Full Install” if you want to install all components in one work environment.
・ Select “Custom Installation” if only subcomponents are to be installed in one work environment.
・ Do not make any settings on the target ports.
・ Assign a PostgreSQL password (see 8 Superuser Password). 
Note
PostgreSQL password required!
Assign an initial superuser password for the WAGO Solution Builder database in the “Initial PostgreSQL Password” input field.
Be sure to remember the assigned password!
